hi guys, it's been a long time since the last post in augst last year; have been busy as usual, dance 6 days in a week, having a happy life.

i've been urged by many students that they want me to have a web site, thanks to one of my students helping me, we are working on a new web site, progressing slowly due to my heavy work load. will work hard on that and inform my friends/students when the site is set up.

wow, it's been a month from previous post :P
something wrong with this 'blogger', couldn't publish my post almost 2 week

brother & his wife visited toronto, as usual, he had meetings in states and traveled back & forth; we went to niagara & buffalo for 2 days, nothing much, shopped around, bought something, mostly kids' clothings, in fact, not kids' anymore, both kids are teens.

my brother & his wife like lobsters, we ate so much, didn't cook much at home, mostly ate out, i gained several pounds, SIGH, filled my tummy, both food and FAT.

lots of students are taking vacation during summer, look forward to resuming normal ..
when we have normal life, we look forward for vacation ...
when we have vacation, we look forward for normal .... what a life

Regina Cheung is a renowned line dance video producer from Toronto, Canada, producing many beautiful and gracious dance routines on You Tube. However, not many know that she is also a prolific dancer, instructress, and choreographer.‘Summer Night Tango’ is her hit success this March. She also contributes in the local art scene, serving as project coordinator in town dance events. She first performed for her school at the age of 7 at the City Hall in Hong Kong, and she has learnt various dance genre including jazz, hip hop, ballroom, and line dance. When she migrated to Canada, she picks up hip hop & ballroom from two well-known instructors in Toronto who inspire her into pursuing line dancing in 2006. Line dance provides an outlet for her to express her feelings and emotions. An emotional being, she cried whilst listening to Wynnona Judd’s I Want To Know What Love Is, and not surprisingly, she also produced the dance video, Show Me The Love, recently.

In 2008, she started line dance instruction with a small class in a beauty spa and the number of classes and students has grown steadily ever since. That year (2008), she also started videotaping her class practice from scratch, and by mid-2009, she produces dance videos for her students on YouTube. In the short period of two and a half years, her dance videos have been viewed over 1 million times and she has over 500 subscribers in her YouTube channel.

She is a perseverance lady, who is motivated by the numerous positive feedback and comments both locally and abroad to produce the best video production and to become one of the leading renowned video producers in the line dancing world with her precise, vivid and clear instruction, despite setbacks last year when her You Tube accounts was terminated for alleged violation of ‘exclusive choreography copyright’ – ridiculous claim of exclusiveness which contradicts the spirit of linedancing where most if not all choreographers want their dance to be shared. Soon, she picked up the pieces and is back in business, motivating many including her students with the dance videos. We salute her strength!

Some of the best videos produced so far include ‘Paloma 2009’. “Cricket on a Line’ and her favorites include Scott Blevins’s ‘No Salvations’ and ‘Trouble Is’. Her videos is also popular and well-received in the UK - reaching 11,810, 13,284 and 10,549 hits for ‘For the Lovers’, ‘You’re amazing’ and ‘Party Freak’ respectively.

In March this year, she choreographed ‘Summer Night Tango’, which became a hit and is well received in many parts of the world including the US, UK, Australia, Malaysia, Korea & China. Her email was inundated with requests from Line dance instructors, asking for the music and step sheet. Summer Night Tango is still well received in many parts of the world including the local scene here. ‘Eden’ and ‘Beggin You (Funky Cha)’ are among some of her favorite choreography.

She participates in local community and social events in Toronto, Canada where she lives. Among many contributions, she serves as project coordinator in several town dance projects such as A Dance To Raise The Curtain program in Richmond Hill. She also performs and leads line dance event in an Art Centre for the past two consecutive years.

hi there, just drop a few lines before i go to sleep, very tired, i dance almost everyday, take videos, edit; oh i went to a ball last night, i wore a very pretty 'betsey johnson' dress, lots of compliments.

i've choreographed 2 dances and will release in a short while, stay tuned.

busy these days. just to update a few lines.
mom's first surgery done and she's progressing well, thanks to friends' queries about her.
she's in rehab and will be discharged this friday. will go hospital to follow up tomorrow and see when will be the next surgery on right thight, we were told by the rehab doctor that she may not need the 2nd one, depends on the surgeon's decision. CROSS THE FINGERS.

since my youtube account terminated, i have hugh lost and now it's time for remedial.
i work/dance hard and try to do videos as much as i can BUT still on the songs that i like, i don't do only 'brand name' choreographers.

of course, there're still a few exceptional, around 1 - 2% that i'll do some that i'm not fond of i.e. request from students, or choreographers ....

well well, now go get prepare for the class, see you in a bit, CIAO

oh boy busy busy

kids recital was done last saturday, before then, they had the rehearsal consecutive 3 weekends from 12:00 noon to 9:00, last weekend was the final rehearsal in the theatre. i've never been so serious like that for a dance performance. that was a hip hop show, the director did a great job, now i understand why she was so serious & mean to 'everyone', hahaha, worth it worth it .... everyone loves her, students, parents, both my kids say they'll join next year; jon says 'can't wait to dance more'....

my mom had her first surgery done this monday, progressing well, will move to rehab; next one will be done right after the first one fully recovery. complicate, huh ?? so stressful, the hospital's in downtown, i drive downtown almost everyday, i was so pissed off, then i soothed myself, take that like i have a job in downtown and now i only have to drive in 2 weeks or 3 weeks, not bad at all..

new classes started, got less students because of all kinds of reasons, summer vacation, holiday, visiting blah blah, SIGN, whatever, i have no time to think/plan about it, just move forward, will see

TIRED AND EXHAUSTED

these days are so tiring.

my youtube account was terminated in the beginning of the month; i lost all the view hits and subscribers. then prepared my parties & performed with my students in an event.

i was really happy to received a HD camera from my students; unfortunately my edit program is not compatible to the camera, so i browsed around to source a way to edit; i downloaded some programs for trial THEN i brought in the virus to my computer. i'm prepared to buy a new computer in a bigger size & faster but the existing works so fine and i will give it to my kids as extra; before i sent out my computer for reinstallation i back up everything in the C drive BUT i forgot to tell the computer guy to back up my outlook files which is my email program. ALL my mails in the last several years were gone after the reinstallations included all contacts. =O

my parties pix & videos, the photographer took over 500 pix and they are nice pix, i wanted to make a beautiful video with about 100 pix & some video highlight, for some reason, my window movie maker freeze everytime just a bit before i finish, so i could never finish my photo album or video of my birthday.

kids are taking hip hop & breakdance class, the studio will have their yearly performance in downtown on june 4. can't believe they are sooooo serious and i have to take kids back to studio for rehearsal for almost 3 weekends (sat. & sun from 12:00 - 9:00). i had 2 classes yesterday, kids had their chinese lesson in the morning and abacus in the afternoon, i took them after the 2 programs and they stay until 9:00 p.m. i went shopping again =D bought lots of beautiful tanks.

my mom's legs got some problem, we're waiting for the surgery, so i run around st. michael hospital and my mom's house and my house and mom's doctor's office sometimes.

these are what happened these days and i'm really tired.

OH, some more, students are so happy to join my BD party and they keep saying i should run a few more in a year, yeah right, i get help this time, my team members say they will arrange the parties whenever i needed.

my summer session is starting next week, happy for the existing students continue their lesson and expecting new students as well; some students join more lessons after they joined my party and watched the performance of my students.

will keep trying on the pix & videos. WISH ME LUCK =))

PARTIES - A BIG THANK YOU

phew, parties over, very tired, danced for 2 days, non stop, that's good, lost some weight =D

I was overwhelmed by all the work done by my team members, they had meetings to plan for the party, arrived the party 2 1/2 hours ahead and did all the job, didn't let me participate, just walked in and danced, i never felt so easy in my line dance job, they made me feel like i'm a princess; also the energy of my students who attened, kept dancing and dancing in the party.

the party was great, took lots of pix & videos in my BD party; but the photographer said she needs several days to do the pix, WHAT ? SEVERAL DAYS ? can't wait, i took little with my camera, and i need the pix for editing, will press her a bit.

last night i led & performed @ Michael Lai Art Centre 13th anniversary event, that was a big party and thanks to my loving students accompanied me, we did a wonderful job and had a great time in the party.

will post the videos in dance sties and also pix here, stay tuned.

TOMORROW MY BD PARTY

my birthday is on 5/19 but i'll have my party tomorrow, look forward to having fun with my students; yes, same as last year, only students. we've been working on the party since 6 weeks ago, can't believe this year is so comfy that i don't have to prepare anything other than the dance & music, my team members organized everything for me, truly appreciated to my team members & students even those who can't join me this time but with their support to my classes, i still think i'm in love with them and my line dancing.

these days, a bit headache from the unpleasant youtube account and videos editing, still survive and living happily.

will update after my 2 parties in this weekend. stay tuned.

well well well the day has come. i was expected since the copyright issue raised and some dance groups' account being terminated a year ago; when that happened, still hurts.

thanks to my good friends, mike & juliet gave me advices and their kind words; PLUS, i shopped after with my sister & kids and bought 2 pair of beautiful shoes, those compensated a bit of my 'hard feelings' =D

yeah, a bit uncomfort, what can i do? i set up another email and youtube accounts, uploaded some videos, but that doesn't help, the copyright issue still there. HUUMMM ..... too tired, but i'll keep moving forward to disappoint my haters =))

absolute busy day today, stef had a major dental app., jon has a school project exhibition, i went to beauty spa twice, will have lobster feast with my family tonite. good that tony brought me good news in his work, that cheers me a bit; and my loving brother & his wife will visit again in this summer, what else do i want ?? life's beautiful to have dance everyday ..... OTHER THAN THE DAMN YOUTUBE COPYRIGHT MATTER .... ahahahahah

I seldom watch others' videos in youtube so i didn't know how they manage, the copyright issue makes me headache. just watched a few local dancers', kinda getting a bit of how they work. my students, sadly to let you know due to the above issue, i have to downgrade the audio quality to match youtube's requirement, i may have to make the sound worse SIGH, i can't stand it. oh well, will see.

2 parties coming up next week, things are prepared, looking forward to having fun with my students, also a performance in an event ....

hi guys, very busy these days, that's why i take less videos

there're 2 parties coming up in may, look forward to having fun with my students, also excited of my coming up new dance, hope dancers like it. nowadays, it's not worthwhile to do dances, even the brand name choreographers', just last only a short while, over 10 new dances come up everyday, never mind me just a 'nobody'.

sister visiting from maryland, also relatives from vancouver, eat, eat, eat ...... how can i stop myself not to eat to fit in my pretty dress; oh, those pumps in 5 - 6", i had been protecting my feet and not to buy them, finally, they are too tempted and i bought a pair, so pretty, good even just wear them to take pix =D

will post a few pix after my parties, stay tuned .....

hurray, view hits over 1,006,000 in my YouTube channel - rclinedanz. Thanks for the viewers' watching & support for my channel, as well as the constructive comments from the viewers. being an individual and all done by myself, i'm proud of myself, and i will keep on working hard to do better.

Also, the 1 star viewer, she has to watch my videos before she rates me. She doesn't understand her rating doesn't move me, doesn't affect the viewers' eyes, hearts, & brains ..... =D

Happy about my recent choreographies 'summer night tango' and 'elvis' loving you', received lots of emails from overseas instructors saying my videos help.

hi guys, it's almost 2 weeks from the previous post, busy as usual, classes, choreographies, parties.

CHOREOGRAPHIES - how i make dance, i have no plan at all, whenever i have feeling in a song, then i make it, isn't that simple. thanks to my son, he watched a movie and liked 2 songs, he told me to download for him then i found they are interesting, one was 'cash in my pocket' i did that in 20 mins, my girl said 'mommy, you do dance so fast, why don't you make dance everyday', silly girl, i don't make dance like making supper, they are not quickies; they are pieces of art, no matter you like my art or not. i did ceramic before, i still keep my pieces, and they may not be precious to others but sure to me.

when i was young, i draw, i paint, i visited galleries and museums, tell you the truth, i can't tell who are the artists, what are the paintings but i just loved to watch the paintings/pictures and have my own thinking/opinion. yes indeed, i'm a bit isolate, even now.

i will tape less videos recently, i have to prepare 2 parties in one weekend.

in my instructor's class, i feel like a dumb. i might be too sensitive, a few dance mates pin pointed that i don't dance good because i don't remember the dances. in true, i don't practice or review what i learn from her class. at the moment they gossiping on me without improving their skill/technique, i'm moving up the ladder, slowly .....

can't believe it's been a year, time flies really fast, i am busy all the times and never stop by to smell the flowers or get up to smell the coffee, well, i drink coffee everyday though =O

i've been teaching almost 3 years, other than the first year i got ill treated, bad mouthing, discrimination, dancers dare not to talk to me (some still do), i gained a lot, from experience, skills, technique, social skills, how to teach, most important, my loving dance students =))

i almost gain 1 million view hits in youtube and generated over 400 subscribers, compare to other big groups, mine is minimal; i'm happy what i'm doing and what i have, treasure what i have too, BIG THANK YOU to my viewers including the damn 1 star viewer, she still does but remember, she has to watch me to increase my view count before she rates me =]
i started to prepare my BD party. we'll have a change this year, not only line dancing but lots more. We will cater the Dinner; Lucky Draw, Group Performance, competition, and of course, line dancing. i'll be a bit slow to take videos and teach new dances in this month coz. we need to review the previous dances and practice the performance.

btw, to those who don't understand me, bear in mind i only move my feet in my instructor's class, i don't remember the dances, i don't practice at home, i'm busy enough in my own teaching and video taking and my own choreographies. i have no interest to DANCE BATTLE, SHOW OFF, COMPARE, OR COMPETE to anyone in the class.

SUMMER NIGHT TANGO

hi guys, very tired today, kids' march break, they stayed home in the morning but i had 2 lessons for danced almost 4 hours. had great fun in both the intermediate and beginners class.

about my summer night tango, have to share the good news with you.
i was overwelmed by the feedback of the line dance world, i received song requests & compliments from the instructors all over the world US, UK, Singapore, Malaysia, unexpected, even China & Korea.

i taught in the beginners class today, i told the students they are not the basic beginners any more, indeed they did so well, love to dance & hang out with them.

moreover, i will have new choreographies release soon.

to my 1 star viewer/hater, you must be very disappointed to see my little happiness, if you dare to keep rating me and send me insulting comments, i will collect all your comments and post out at one time, will see.

to my viewers/students/readers, thanks again for your continuours support, i will work harder to reach my dream.

March Break & New Choreographies

hi guys, how are you :-?
life's same busy even kids are in march break; i don't stop my classes, all as usual but have to drive kids around, to friends' house, shopping, buying, so & so & so, same busy, no more, no less =O

just released my new choreography - Summer Night Tango which is a little cute dance with the Paso Doble ending. whenever i pick a song that i have a feeling, the ideas just rush in without thinking. same like 'i can't go for that', i was in the vacation, kids & tony at the pool, i stayed in the hotal room and got bored so i made it up, i think that's smooth & easy. so far i got good feedback for the dance, several US & singapore & malaysia instructors asked for the music; the dance site, yipee, also taught my dance.

just posted out summer nite tango this morning and 3 instructors asked for the music.

have to stop now, go back to the dance. talk to you later.

'Hold On To Your Dream'

quoted lady GaGa in the radio; what is my dream, everybody knows, but someone may not understand. my dream isn't big, i want to do better than better, no limit, no end, just step by step.

that's my character since i was a kid, i never satisfy myself, everytime i think i could do better and i don't sit on the first step and look up to the top.

this also apply to my kids, when my girl got a silver, i told her 'she could have done better to get a better result', i don't usually praise her to get silver but i don't score her not to get the 'gold', just want her to do better, luckily she's a replica of me and she's even more patient than me, i'm so lucky to have her.

my 2 kids are my life, most valuable presents from god, heehee, they think i'm means though coz. i'm so strict & cool.

anyway, march break is getting close and stefi's BD as well, life's on & on and time flies so fast; i have to work harder before the day i'm old enough and can't dance anymore. don't think that's a joke, look at my mom, she used to be tough and had good memory, now she complians her legs hurt when she walks and doesn't remember everyone's bithday .....

oh well, be brave, be happy, face the life & reality .... wish you all the best

hi guys, can't believe it's been half a month and i'm totally lost.
why ? i went to my instructor's birthday party last week. i've led a section of several dances, at first, i had no clue what to do, i was told to do count in and no walk thru, then i noticed other instructors called out the cue a bit. and the time gap between was tight so we even had no chance to tell the dance names and desriptions, then i though 'ok, just do it like in the class, call a bit of the cue if and when someones lost the steps' so the outcome was OK lah.

these 2 days i'm lost again, we are leaving soon for vacation but i still have classes on sat. sun. & mon., it's so painful to pack up; hope i'll get a good rest in the trip.

it's now 2:10 a.m., have to do nail polish, take a look of the dance that i teach tomorrow ... have to stop now.

hello there, Grenade by Bruno Mars, such a great & hit song, once it was released, it is sooooo hot in the radio, all kids sing/love the song, i first heard it while jon was sang along the song in the computer (we share the same office in 2 computers).

i was waiting and waiting, i expected a popular choreographer would do the dance, i wanted so much he would make one. finally, 2, 3 dances came out about the same time with the same song but none by him. anyway, i did one of them but i didn't do a good job.

it's alright, wait for another hit song ....

i will join my instructor's BD party next week with some of my students, will lead a section of several dances; then i'll be away for a short while.

hi guys, how are you ? happy new year !!

finally, things back to normal, classes back to normal.
new year resolution - line dance .....

i had my new session started on wednesday in the community centre, some students from previous sessions didn't show up, up set ?? no lah
a few students told me before the end of last session that they will come back in march because of the cold weather. of course i don't agree with them, in the cold weather, you need more exercise to burn your calorie instead of sitting in the couch and eat and watch TV or sitting in front of the computer and play games over 10 hours, am i harrassing you ? no ah, that's me, what i was doing during christmas holidays =O

i recruited some new students, i'm happy with the no. of studens; it's alright, i'll work harder and better, and longer hours to achieve my goal

what is my goal ? be honest, i don't have any particular in my mind, just want to do better in line dance teaching, i'm proud of my students when they dance pretty, you may or may not believe me, just love to dance with them and too happy to have someones dance with me

i took several videos in the first lesson of the new session, posted 2 in the dance sites, i slept passed 4:00 a.m. last 2 nites to do editing.

this is just a sudden.
when stefi listened to the song and asked me if i like it, i told her 'no'.

then i listen to the radio, i hear it at least 2 times every hour in 2 stations; then i think, huumm, it's really not bad though. so i just made up some steps and danced with my students, outcome was good. hope you like it.

christmas is getting closer & closer

it scares me a bit, how come the time flies so fast ?

jonjon got the newest iPod, stefi got the biggest size iPad, at the same time, i'm still using my outdated sony cel. phone and 2nd generation iPod and non HD canon camera, hahahaha, i know, even my computer is outdated with the limited editing program, that's why you see my videos with standard editing, no graphics.

i'm planning to do the 'JibJab' holiday dance again, will do it next week.

can't believe december starts today, haven't prepared anything, shopping, ahah, gift, ahah, christmas letter, ahah, i used to write a long christmas letter for friends & families each year updates my family, ahah, no more no more. too busy and nothing to write, kids grow bigger, in which grade, what they are learning after school; tony keeps busy, where we went for vacation, every year the same, me, same lah.

it's pro and con, since i line dance, i turned so happy and got no time to get depress; the other way, i'm not interested in anything, don't want to leave for vacation.

kids just get used to my dancing life; tony ? not yet, still piss or cold war or mad for my line dancing, sometimes is tired. i even think of should i give up, it's not that easy, road is hard & difficult, from recruit to keep students, not that i like to do, be honest, i don't like to please others, i just love to be myself and let you see the 'real me'

200%, i love to dance and love to teach, when i see the students' progress, when i dance with them, that's priceless, speechless BUT other than those, especially administration, borders me a bit :P

had 2 lessons last nite, now get ready to go class, talk to you later.

yay, party tonite, the fall session started for 2 months, we'll have party tonite, also do potluck, sure we'll have a good time, will let you know.

did i forget the blog, of course not, but i was a bit down in october, what about it ? mostly line dancing, i've told you my life is pretty flat out of line dance, take care of kids, in and out between home and studio, ooops shopping & beauty spa too, haha, not much =))

in october, all a sudden, things turned upside down, a bit upset; could be too much work, too tired. whenever i get stuck, i leave it to god, i know he'll show me the way, luckily, same this time, things back to normal, gradually.
you may say i'm 'ah Q' spirit to think it that way, but whatelse can i do when things are not under my control ?? huh ??

anyway, thanks to my students' support, some return to class, some bring in new students; thanks to my dance friends/students continuous support and god's taking care of me, i'm fine now.

aiya, halloween's only a week from now, can't believe the summer ran so fast, next year will catch it tight ...

all my new classes started, the number of students are good, guess my teaching skills getting better or the students' level are higher; both basic beginners and beginenrs classes are doing great, students pick up so fast and well, i've also up the high beginners to intermediate level. look forward to do higher level dances with the students.

when i taught 'J HoAB' in the UHS basic beginners class, that was their 2nd lesson but they did so well; and i was really happy when the students picked up the dance and showed their excitment, that's speechless and priceless, and that's also the reason why i love to teach, i love to see the happy faces of my students LOLOL

getting sleepy, have to go to sleep, have 3 classes tomorrow, ZZZzzzzzzz

hope everyone had a happy thanksgiving long weekend. i had classes on sat., sun., & mon. during the long weekend; thanks to my students, they are same crazy in dancing like me to continue the lessons.

i ate a lot in the thanksgiving day, turkey, beef and vegi, and deserts. i have gained 7 pounds since my brother came in august and weight never go back down. oh well, i'll watch my diet later, later, and later ... LOLOL

my second co-choreographed dance, Over it (Cry Baby) with Sebastiaan Holtland, NL was launched last friday, we got good responses. so far i have good relationship with the co-choreographers.

tuesday, no lesson today, there's a new dance released yesterday, i wanted to do the demo but can't, loads of work at home, my husband started complaining (well actually, his complains never stops on my line dancing ;P)
SO, i have to hold my horse and not to do the demo, i'm sure it will be popular, oh well, i'll dance it at home to entertain myself

today's tuesday, i'll stay home all day long, tons of work :
my new dance will be released in a couple of days, no time to finish the script, taught in 3 classes and took videos, no time to edit;
my nite class of beginners & high beginners switched to wednesday, browse around for right dances to teach tomorrow;

dance demo - taught 'blue sky' (click this blue dance name then you'll be directed to youtube) and also my new dance yesterday; thanks to my students in all classes to accompany me for the dance demos, they all doing great.

moon cake - i didn't like it when i was young, thought that was soooo old fashion; then we migrated here and mom started to buy from 'Kim Moon', an old style chinese bakery in china town, then i think 'huumm, not too bad'.

could be i'm getting old, could be a matter of feeling, that became an event for me to drive mom downtown every year to buy several boxes of fresh order made '4 eggs in 1 moon cake'. YES, i eat 4 eggs, so 2 boxes of 4 cakes @ with 4 eggs; i eat over 32 eggs in september. cholesterol, could be a problem, i'll do more dancing to burn it .....

i had 2 classes today, reviewed 1 dance & taught 2 dances in the morning itnermediate class, good that students like them, i'm happy when they like my good picks

talk to some students to switch them into right classes

these few days feel like dizzy (mentally), sometimes i ask myself why do i keep myself so busy ? what if i don't line dance, then i'll have more than 80% time spare and sit down and eat and do nothing
OH NO, not a good practice, i better go back to my dance practice,
i know this disappoint my haters ... =))

my brother & his wife visited us 3 weeks, they left last week.
we ate so much while they were here, i've gained 5-6 pounds,
SIGH, i deserved it, hahaha, it's alright, the 3 weeks' gain will take me 3 weeks to get rid of ..... working hard

dancing hard too, take lots of videos, guess i've gone crazy, lots of fun to make videos

new classes - the outcome of saturday intermediate was good, look forward to have more dancers to dance intermediate level dances with me

unionvile high school line dance class - students are very supportive, most of them will continue the class, thank you dear

since i took video this morning, have been editing for so many hours, eyes hurt, no dancing tomorrow, fridy tony's day off, will have facial, hair color, beauty day .....

LOBSTER SUMMER

without BMF & BFW, life is so bored, hahahaha, i know, you are cursing on me; hey, don't forget BMF's best friend, alwaysbedere ...... oh well, she doesn't need to spend so much time at home so she likes to stick her nose to others' butt .....

my brother has conferences in the universities and visiting us with his wife; they both like lobsters so we keep eating feasts ..... 8 lbs lobster feast, steaks, 9 lbs king crab .... too tempting. i have eczema, not supposed to eat seafood, who says ? i join the group with the medicine along side and my skin so bad like ..... hummm, sand paper or alligator skin

i should consider making an 'alligator dance' ....

DANCE - i co-choreographed with sue ann an easy intermediate dance - my first kiss, that was great, got good feedback, also feel like having company to work/dance with ....

still working on some projects, stay tuned ....

2 years ago, when my instructor wanted to train me as one of her assistants, i got all the bad treated from a few members of her group; then i started my own line dance class out of her group, then the 'few members' cursing me betrayed my instructor bla bla bla .....

nowaday, world changed, to what ? SIGH, still the 'few members' think i'm so good & lucky to have my own classes, i do & teach on my own will, get to choose dance to teach; WHAT, heehee, yes ........

BMF left the group, i knew it 2 weeks ago, waited and waited for the confirmation, and BFW is leaving for good ....

I WISH THEM ALL THE _____ ....... filling the blank, you figure out =P

SO, i don't and can't care of them too much, i'm in some projects and thanks to my students & assistants support me, i'll keep going ..... holding on to my line dance dream

love you all except the 'few members' ...... =D

how are you ? sorry didn't update for 2 weeks; have been busy for all the studio changes. if you watched my videos, then you know the WannaDance studio where i was teaching has been sold, i had to find new locations and try the studios, lots of work.

July 12 was my last lesson there. i had my monday class and we took videos of several dances in 2 hours + taught one dance 'my DNA'; so happaned we did good in 'my DNA'.

we did : love is blue, peek a boo, i'll wait for you, my DNA, ......

to be continued, now have to get kids prepare for the summer camp, will be back .... ;P

hi there, how are you ?

if you are my dance friends/students, then you know i have lots of videos posted up in youtube. i was too busy in june so i taped only a few, then keep doing tapes after the parties.

thanks to my againsters, since some words about my 'hand movements' in flashdance, then i do lots to show them 'what is dancing with the whole body' =O

the most i like are :
'love is blue' - danced a bit stiff coz. the shoes and hard to meet the choreographer, mike's demand, he's very precise and makes me nervous, always dance better after the dance demos :P
i showed the dance to my classes, love it a lot, hope you also enjoy it =D

'everything i do' - my advance students usually pick what they want to learn then i teach, do i spoil them ? no lah ! i take it like training, i can only prepare the material on sunday late nite when everyone goes to sleep, before i go to the class the next morning, it is kind of test, i love the way to push myself :-?. i taught 2 dances that morning, i took the video but didn't intend to post out, then i see everyone enjoyed the dance a lot, so decided to post out just the dance without walk through, there are many demos out there already.

other than a bit stiff in 'love is blue', i'm happy with both demos, want to show them how beautiful can be a dance when you dance with 'heart' but not only feet.

by the way, next week will be my last week in the studio, it has been sold, sure you and I will miss the beautiful background and the chandelier.

4 parties in 8 days

JUNE 19 - Crystal Gala 2010 hosted by Toronto Elegant Lions' Club in Sheraton Parkway Hotel. Met lots of friends in the gala, i love the atmosphere with pretty girls in beautiful gowns. i felf so pretty when i danced 'Waltz II' in the evening dress.

JUNE 22 - a review party in the class, students brought in the food. we did most of the dances i taught in this session; food are great, as usual, some are home made, the are the best =D

Did demos of 'Blue Rose Is' and 'Flashdance' with my students.

JUNE 25 - thanks to Bonnie Wan invited me to lead line dance at Michael Lai Art Centre anniversary event; i went with Tony and about 20 students, together with the table of Amy from In Beauty Spa, which was a big company.

i led the line dance part in the event, thanks to my students and the guests accompanied me, that was awesome and my students danced so great, i'm very proud of them.

i had a line dance performance of 'flashdance' with my students, right before we started the dance; the MC asked if i could do one more dance coz. Bonnie needed more time to change for her ballroom performance; so we decided to dance 'cha cha' right at the spot, that was great even we didn't do the rehearsal before.

the nite was great, earned lots of compliments.

i was very lucky to get the prizes, there were 3 table prizes and i won 2. tony bought some raffle tickets and we won 2 prizes one was the big prize.

Trouble Is - my new dance demo, i got 3 versions of the script before i took the video
Flashdance - i found 3 versions from different dance sites

in case you don't know there is a part of intro to do the steps & handmovement
in case you don't know there are different scripts in the dance websites
in case you didn't read the description of my dance demo
in case you just started to source dances on your own without your instructor's assistance

lesson #2
the world changed, the trend changed, there could be several versions of one dance; some choreographers like to revise their script on & on & on, it is hard for the dancers to find out which one is final. the outcome ?
you can wait for a year then the script can be steel firmed, no one care if you do it right or wrong =D
or dance it fast like me, give a chance to your againsters/haters to attack you

i slept around 4:00 a.m. this morning for 3 hours, now have to go back to sleep

FLASHDANCE

First, i would like to thank you for watching my demo
Secondly, thanks for the compliment from mike, the choreographer, several instructors from vancouver (tim), LA (linda), malaysia (michelle), singapore (cecilia) and a very good friend, who's also an instructor from Hawaii (auj)

as mentioned in my dance descriptions in youtube then you know there are different versions of the script - i) copperknob; ii) yipee iii) the choreographer's site.
thanks to mike taylor sent me the 'official script' which was downloaded from the choreographer’s site

from her site, i learnt that she's is a very experienced dancer and started line dancing several years ago. of course I admire her; she started her dance career long ago not like us, gave birth, raised the kids, became a 'sei lai' and started line dancing.

there was a feedback of the dance that i have to bring up here, a comment about our hand movements in the intro of our video; an instructor from my instructor's dance group commented the hand movements weren't in the script and 'WRONG' =O

oh, does the script say 'tie your hands at the back' and walk out the steps like walking ?

thanks to my friend reminded me, your dance group have 'added' to - things that were NOT on the script, i.e. 'am i ?' with the arm movements - they are not in the script; wooly bully diagonal shuffles instead of forward... AND your boss's own dance - 2 butterflies, the rock recover, side receover with hand movements, you better not to say she's wrong or she'll fire YOU =D

watch Rachael McEnaney in her own dance - Sentimental, note her body & hand movements, my gosh, a piece of art, i never felt the beauty when i learnt the dance until i watched her. we, are far from there, learn more, feel more, dance more WITH THE HEART .....

there're lots of knowledge about music, dance, hand movements, can't teach you all here, that worth money unless you pay and join my class; listen to the music - let it 'speak' to you.. go with the flow as they say (not with 'everybody else' - but with the music)

SIGH, i'm happy for you coz. your student same naive like you and listened to you, other than that .......
my only advice - NOT JUST WALK OUT THE STEPS and call that 'dancing'

Flashdance - my new dance demo, mike taylor promoted the dance on sunday, i printed out and checked at nite, hummm, wait a minute, the script was totally different from the choreographer's video; i then checked another website, mamamia, another version !!!

then i thought, that's ok, same like 'push it up', as long as there's a video, i can do it, then mike sent me the 'official script' the next morning, SIGH, what is official and what is unofficial ??? anyway, steps are still a bit different but 95% close to the choreographer's video

yesterday was victoria day, a statuary holiday, tony was home, i had to run home after class to have lunch with the family and i got no chance to go back to the studio to take a better dance / walk through video =(

anyway and anyhow, that's how the dance came out, hope you enjoy it

sorry to my dance friends that i didn't invite you, i held my BD party in the studio and the space is limited so i can only invited my students, that was a great night with all my students. another surprise - my husband, tony, and the kids also came to cut the birthday cake with me.

i ordered my favourite cake, black forest, and 2 more cakes from the students; other students bring in lots of delicious food, especially those home made ones; we spent lots of time to take pictures, enjoyed the food and lucky draws. thanks to my student's sponsor for the prizes and congrat to those who won the prizes.

thanks to some students' praised & complimented me in the party, now tony knows i'm serious in teaching and that's not an easy way as he thought that i just dance/move around, he also impressed to the students' appreciation; i can see he's happy that i got so much support from the students and he will let me spend a bit more time in teaching, this is really a big BIRTHDAY PRESENT to me

it's been awhile, i have been sick for weeks, no big matter, just flu & cough, on & on like a never ending story .........
i tried everything, no help; last sunday, i gave 2 lessons in the morning, then 2 lessons on monday, i lost my voice, i finally took the last step, went see doctor and got the antibiotics, feel much better now ......

my sister visited toronto from maryland 3 weeks ago, i drove her to the airport for going back home today, i miss her a bit; these weeks, we didn't do much both together coz. i was sick and she was busy in her projects.

she's a freelance translator; she left many years ago to get her master degree in states, then married an american and stays in maryland. good that she comes back here once every year to file her tax return and body check and so & so, then i get to see my lovely sister once a year ....

my brother is coming in august for meetings, he has a doctor degree in business administration, a professor in the university, holding chairs of several worldwide academic programs. he runs academic conferences around the world, i always say he works like a tour guy more than a professor, indeed, he teaches very little in a year, more in talks and conferences

another brother in australia, a physiotherapist specialized in kids' area.

me, major was legal administration, was appointed by the law firm be an executor to take oaths; i got the less education amongst my siblings, but they all say i'm smart, clever, sweet .... heeheehee, just kidding, i quote myself 'the black sheep in the family' and i think my mom is proud of us, we all have strength in different area

may is a bit quiet, i will get busy in june

April 1 - APRIL FOOL =D

April 1 = April Fool, i used to be very excited when i was young, who doesn't, a kid could be excited for a candy or a dance =D

that was a thursday, which can be a relax day for me (no lessons at all)
or can be a busy day for me (take dance demos for no lessons worry)
i took 7 dance demos in 3 hours - sorry guys, that's a bit rush, don't question me the quality, even i'm always a quality keeper

DN Waltz - a cute little waltz, like the lyric. did that in the class, we were a bit rush that nite, learnt and reviewed dances in the last lesson

Gossip Girl - i uploaded the dance in youtube, my students asked why didn't i do the walk through, so i taught in the class, that was really a new experience for the beginner students to do 3/4 turns, 2 tags & 1 restart; i'm very proud of them to do the dance in such a short time of practice

Night Owl - a new dance, i did the demo, that was the only one shot, you could see i wasn't that serious (see below for the reason), thanks i did it proper, especially the walk through. after i sent to the dance websites, one of the site owners sent me email :
I was discussing last night If you would be the first one for this dance.
And you are

trial for fun :P - i like the steps of night own, thought that it would be fun if i can dance it fast, SO, i did it, that was great, just one shot, i posted out in youtube

alwaysbdere, of course, a fake name, opened a separate account to challenge me and dares not to use her ‘real name and account’; figured out who she is, if I’m wrong, hahaha, too bad, blame whoever wrote me and gave me the impression =D

One of the comments from her to ‘no more tears’, which I was too happy to get her ‘no sense’ comments again and too excited to respond to her then I accidentally deleted the comment in youtube:

Don’t feel sorry for yourself.
I expect to receive positive and negative comments as long as they are constructive.
To a non line-dance-viewer, I would enlighten her as to what is line dancing.
To a line dancer like you, and based on your queries of my "No Salvation" and "I’m Alive" demos, obviously "I’m Alive" suits you better but you have not reached the level to learn this dance yet.
Anyways, dance more to go through the steps so you can pass on better techniques to your 'students'.

furthermore, i don't click & rate myself (except the first few counts to make sure my clip is OK); to me, youtube is a playform to train myself in dancing & talking, i need to know the fact to improve myself. glad to receiving numerous comments via emails, open comments, and in person and 200% sure i will upset you coz. this is just my starting point to do better and better; to you - keep/lock yourself and your world will be forever 'huge' inside the small WELL.

hi dear, how are you ?

it's been 2 weeks from last post, mamamia, so busy, kids' march break, i thought i would have more time to clean & clear up things in the house, i was wrong, didn't do much except lots of videos.

because of the march break and there was no class from my instructor, i kept doing tapes, i also taught my classes, skipped only saturadays for room unavailable.

from mid august last year, i started to do dance demos on my own from source dance, study the steps, practice, take videos, edit, upload; all by myself, proud of myself.
thanks to my friends and students' support to view my clips and keep email me to compliment and encourage me. i'm confidence that i can do better each time than the last time.

first lesson today from my instructor after march break, BMF & BFW are the same, talked and teased so much; when i looked at them, i felt a bit pity on them and reminded myself, i should learn from them, one day i'll turn old like them and i make sure myself not be so harsh to the younger ones like me =O

my new classes, very good response, most students continue the lesson, i have to split 2 classes because of the different levels and too many students.
my students, if you are reading this, i'm very proud of you, you guys are doing great and get to follow my instructions and technique, i promise you'll be one of the best groups in town in line dancing but not line walking =D

oh well, 1:00 a.m., my first time in these 2 week to go sleep so early. stay tuned. LOVE YA !!!

SERIOUS STATEMENT

With respect to the recent emails spreading around about BMF, I hereby seriously declare that I received the emails but I NEVER RESPOND TO ANYONE OR SEND OUT ANY EMAIL TO THE HEAD INSTRUCTOR about this matter.

Everyone knows how she had been treating me from 2 years ago, nothing has changed ever. Same before, same now, I don’t have to get involve in this matter, I don’t have to tell the instructor how she treats me. From my august 9 2009 post in this blog, I mentioned that she told me to get off the dance floor; the head instructor was 2 feet away from us and saw the whole situation and yet no one did anything to her.

I started teaching line dance in In Beauty Spa 2 years ago with only 1 class and now I have 5 classes. I recruited all students by myself with my hard work and own effort, I stay away from their group and try not to get involve of their politics.

For the one who made up and accused me sent out emails -- MOVE YOUR ASS, don't sit on your brain, let it grow, hopefully, one day it will grow up to your head and you could THINK
LEAVE ME ALONE.
I HAVE NO TIME AND
DON’T WANT TO GET INVOLVE INTO THIS MATTER

FIRST, i'd like to tell all my students that i'm very very happy to see you in the classes and dance with you again; glad that i received emails saying they were having lots of fun in my classes =D

i've been keeping busy since my last post; i took video of my new choreograph IF WE EVER MEET AGAIN last thursday, i had the song over 2 months but never had time to do the dance; i checked before i left for vacation and there were none out yet, i did the steps in the last day of the trip, we got stuck in the airport so i final the steps and entered in my ipod; we were waiting in front of the counter for hours, people knew i was dancing but i looked funny for only moving in the same spot =P

i came home and checked, my oh my, that was one by a 'brand name' choreographer; i had a few seconds hesitation 'should i release my dance', then 'what the heck' no one do my dance anyways, i do my own dance; 'brand name' is 'brand name' no matter what

well, i'm happy with my own version, you may or may not agree =D

i started my regular classes on saturday, i went to winnie's party at nite while kids had the church program. BMF was same high profile, and brought along her hugh group of students (less than 10) in uniform, NO COMMENT

unpack, laundries, grocery shopping, classes, taking videos, editing, all together made me headache. i'm now editing the final video of this week, then i will have a good rest, i promise you - my students and myself.

i took lots of pictures during our vacation, uploaded a few 'bikinis' pix in face book, heehee, only my friends can see them, will upload more and public the album when i have time, yeah right, when i have time, WHEN ??

looks like i will not have much time today, my next line dance party will be held on March 21, students sent me favorite dances, my gosh, according to their requests, other than the recent ones, i have to practice some 'old dances'

OK, have to stop here and go back to my editing, will forward you the link of my next new videos if you are on my list .......

hi there, it’s about time to update again

i'm not lazy but busy instead. i feel like i'm killing myself (ha, someone must be happy), lots of work, loads of work, keep going & going, every time i tell myself ok, finish this one then you'll have a good rest then something (mostly new dance) comes up, then i have to work on it, first read the script, practice a bit, take the walk through (for the first few videos i danced then took the walk through, then i was panting and viewers thought i was chicken, hahahaha, the fact was i couldn't breath to talking continually without pause) now i know how to breath between.

it doesn’t take too much time if I have enough warm up, the most painful part is editing, I spend hours to edit; huuum, I should consider to buy a new edit program

the new dance BABY ON FIRE, was really a last minute thought to choreograph my own creation =)
yesterday, i looked around for good songs to dance warm up with my nite class students, i was checking the bmp of 'pop, lock, & drop' then i thought why don't i just choreograph a new beginner dance as valentine gift for my students, so i made up the dance, wrote down the steps in the scratch paper; then i sent email at 11:30 a.m. to tell my students i have a new dance and told them to wear red outfits if they want to add a little touch of the dance. that's how the dance came up. i taught them the steps, danced once, i taught them what are tag & restart, then we took the video, i should have dance one more time before we took the video but the outcome was great anyways

last nite, i edited the tapes that i took from the nite class until 4:00 in the morning; then i couldn't hold myself and fell asleep on the computer table, i went sleep until 7:30 a.m. got up to continue my computer work & uploaded in youtube, took care the kids to school ......

BMF - you deserve the # 1 =O

went to my instructor winnie yu's BD party last sunday.

party started at 5:00 p.m., i arrived at around 6:15 p.m. and missed the dance part, they started the guests introduction, speech, lion dance, performance etc. etc.

thanks to my student emailed me and asked "Did that BMF give you hard time ?" yes, she did, she won't miss a chance =)

BMF didn't say anything bad or make any big movement, i thought her lips were sewed by someone; HAHAHAHA, i was wrong, once the guests left, she carried the mic. & led the dance, she yelled at the mic loudly in chinese (eat banana) which is very cheap and lowest-class way to speak in public

SIGH, the lowest class instructor - you deserve the #1

why do i mention that, did that bother me, NO, not really, i was far away from her, that shouldn't be me, well, she hates most people, then WHY do i bring it up here ???

when she led the circle waltz, i don't like couple dance at all, so i did 'waltz II' in the middle, she danced with her buddy next to me, with her damn dirty look and said in the mic 'not all instructors know how to teach this'....EXACTLY, whoever says it can't do it - that was you; what's your waltz technique ?
i don't waste my time and pay for nothing of my ballroom lessons in the last 2 years ....

i got comments & feedback from her/my/others students asking me not to be so harsh on her so i did, even though she is mentally ill, it doesn't mean that she can play anyone as she likes, doesn't mean that i have to stand a brainless .. MAD, no lah, but i'm not the little see mui anymore; let you play me and cried at the corner so her buddy BFW could say that i played pitiful ......

huummmm, let the steam out, feel a bit better, see you next round =)

Busy Life ......

hi dear, how are you ?
can't believe it's been a week since my last blog

jon jon had his 10th birthday on jan. 3 last sunday after my class in studio
he invited friends to come over, played and ran around at the house, ate pizza, then we drove in 2 cars to 'dave & buster' for the machine arcade, i feel like a gambler whenever i play those machines, so do the kids, oh well, what else can we do for birthday parties, no more kids' climbing and running in the playland ....

busy schedule the whole week, everyday lessons except thursday, that's the only day free to do a bit house work

kids got 3 activities on saturdays and i teach 1 lesson while wait for the kids attend abacus; cooked for family. i went party at nite but i was exhausted, almost lost my sense, i felt like dreaming the whole nite. and yet had to prepare for sunday lesson before sleep.

have lesson on sunday morning, then entertain my family whole day after class; even tony doesn't like me line dance and sometimes makes me upset for that, he's a very good family man and runs around for me & the kids which i truly appreciate him for doing so

it's almost 2:00 in the morning, will go sleep in a short while, will take mom to hospital tomorrow early morning to take away her cast (she broke her wrist 3 weeks ago and stays in my house for the wholetime), ballroom lesson, line dance lesson, cook for family .......

i still think i should cut down something but what :-?? don't know ... ??

2010 New Year Resolutions : Line Dancing, Line Dancing, Line Dancing

Hello Everyone, Wish you a Happy Happy New Year, have a new good start ....

in 2009, other than the unhappy from BMF & BFW;
i've gained a lot, friendship from overseas, students, experience, technique, much much more, oh, one more, finally my husband let me have ONE nite freedom to teach line dancing, i treasure the nite time to hang out with my students a lot

my new year resolutions ? all about line dancing =)
from taking videos, i started to get use to the way to dance & talk, well, it's a bit embarrassed when i watched the old videos, and yet still love to keep them, those are good proof of my progress; i always say i dance better on the dance floor, now getting used to the camera and dance more natural

in videos, you can't dance big like exaggerate, you can't dance small like walking, you have to dance clear to show every single steps and use your body movement/language but not too much like shaking ..... aiya, just love taking videos, like training, to make myself dance natural, so much to learn;

i will have 2 trial lessons next monday & tuesday, hope to meet you there, look forward to dancing with you in the classes/parties =D

what a wonderful holiday, i had a good rest, didn't sleep for that much for long time; except EAT TOO MUCH AND DANCE TOO LITTLE; i've gained several pounds

keep thinking of dancing, source new dance, what dance to take in next video, prepare the new classes, do a new dance etc. etc. heehee, just thinking but do nothing .... oh well, holiday holiday, take a good rest before anything

hi guy, have to make it short, very busy, will go party tonite; no time to play with BMF, don't border me, i only do the dances i want to, no time & no energy to review at all, will go out in a short while to entertain my kids & mom

mom slipped in the street this monday while i was teaching, took her back & forth between doctor & x ray's office, then emergency, took 6 hours, she broke her right wrist & has cast, now living in my house, everything is fine, just inconvenience, will take her back to hospital next monday after classes to recheck

still have classes on sundy, mondy & tuesday, have to buy decorations for parties and prepare gift for students
tones of work .......... MAMAMIA .......

i don't have to know/remember all the dances, i have family, i have to source new dances and practice and teach and tape; not like you, spend all your time in 'screwing' others and practice what you only learnt, too bad, still bad job =(

My NY Cha ... disappointed

WHY ?

i love the dance, NY Cha so much, i did it the first time, watched the video and found my new mini skirt, i didn't wash it, just ironed to get rid of the wringles, then the skirt looked short & bounced out like a little fat ducky's bum but i danced smooth;

so i washed the skirt and retook the video which was sunday after the class, but i had very little time coz. i had to rush home to take lunch with my family (well, that's the deal, tony doesn't like me to go out so i promised to go home as early as i can after the class, so i don't screw up his 'lunch time'). as i mentioned i'm training myself to talk in front of the camera, so i said how much i like the song and having the memories & friends in new york;

i uploaded the 2nd video in yipee, they posted out the video in the new dance page, i earned 72 view hits in the first hour; but then i rewatched the dance and still think the 1st one danced better so i requested yipee to switch the videos (i know that was my fault not to think it twice, 3 times, 4 times) =(

they were very nice to switch the video for me (millions thanks) but not this time in the new dance page

what i disappointed is i should dance a few more times to make the dance smooth when i retook the 2nd time SIGH, no return

HEY, there are still many more chances, i'll wait for another dance that i really love it ....... i will wait, even if it takes forever, i will wait .......

i went to a line dance birthday party last saturday, had fun coz. BMF wasn't there =P

a few dancers came told me they watch my dance videos and learn from there, well, other than them, i received same comments from oversea's line dancers, taiwai, northern europe. i'm happy, thanks for your watching & comments, and that's one of my purposes to do the demos.

WHY ?

my new dance demo - The Last Nite, the first time when i taped it, something wrong with the restart due to miscommunications with the choreographer; so i had to retake the next day, i wore the latin shoes for 2 days and kept dancing, you can see i was wearing heels in the walk through part, there was a final version with waltz technique but my face shows the pain; then i got changed and thought, ok, buddy, i'm naughty this time then i danced with my sneakers, and that was my only 1 shot 1 version - 'waltz in sneakers'.

you can even see my 'witchy' smile in my eyes when i looked at the camera and i danced free & relaxed BUT without the ballroom feel. be honest, that wasn't bad in 'line dancing', most line dancers dance like that, but in a waltz, that was bad. also, at the same time i taught my class the waltz technique and that reflects in their excellent demo 'the first waltz', i am shame of myself =(

oh well, i am just a naught girl ^_^ and HAPPY DANCING \:D/

i've been learning 'ballroom' basic technique for a while, i picked up the technique & steps well, BUT once i dance with partner, i get nervous & stupid, guess i was born to be a 'line dancer' and dance solo =O

mamamia, i taped a waltz today and the editing was killing me, couldn't watch myself anymore ..... had advance lesson this morning, we have good company =D

we had lunch in a small restaurant yesterday, my girl is pretty & skinny, i said to her 'you should eat more to gain weight and look prettier', my son buzzed in right away 'it's too late', why ? he said 'she was ugly, no turn', SIGH, quick response ..... sometimes they piss me off, fight/argue almost every 5 minutes but love their conversations .....

A big round of applause to my Tuesday nite beginners class. They had 8 lessons after the open house and they did extremely well. I’m very impressed that over half of the students were novice and more than half of the students have gotten use to my cue instructions now. My dear dance students, I’m so proud of you. Keep up the good work.

i started to do walk through in my videos from end of July, i learnt a lot. why actors go to acting school even they are good in acting in daily life, it's different in the expression; same as dancing, the way you talk, the way you dance. as always, i'm training myself, i don't let myself stop; the beauty of learning is to enjoy the process - from source dances, dance, take videos and edit, it's very time consuming but i'm lucky to get the enjoyment =D

the mad dog BMF barked again with her friend, BFW, tired, need a nap, will continue this posting when i have time.

CON'T ......... hi there, can't believe it's been a week already, there was an incident happened in the class last wednesday; oh well, not to repeat it, you'll get bored coz. incidents repeat over and over, and the BMF plays the same tricks ...

BMF, criticizing my beats & steps, take the following instructions :
i. take a moment to watch my dance videos in youtube, check beats in the dance part and steps in the walk through part;
ii. don't get it ? make yourself dance in front of a big mirror to check your own counts & steps, if you find yours are off beat & cheating steps (as you quoted others), then you know what is mirror image and your eyes & ears are perfect;
iii. still don't see your problems ? take a video of your own dance and show it in public, you'll get the impartial comments from outsiders
SIGH, too bad you don't understand what i'm talking about =O

glad to receive positive comments from foreign instructors/ choreographers, comments from peers are treasure and i will keep up my work, for the haters, sure you will be disappointed

WHAT DANCE I LIKE THE MOST ?

3 dances that i like recently :

Paloma 2009 - a very cute dance; and my dress was a tight lean dress but i thought it was too plain so i put on the tutu and the outcome was great, have bought lots of beautiful outfit for videos; why don't i wear them everyday ? well, just not use to since i became an instructor, i feel like i'm selling my technique but not what i wear, you may agree or not agree, that's what i think =)

Break your heart - a great dance, don't know why it's not that popular; i love it whenever i looked at my video collections, SIGH, now dance running so fast, it appears, then it's gone. what a waste on such a beautiful dance, it was by Shaz Walton, personal opinion, i think it's lot better than 'Beautiful' ;P

Big Girl Now - my latest own choreography, of course have to mention it, i spent very little time on this one but the outcome was great, knew that other group did my dance and posted in their website, very happy =D

Break The Dawn - 2009 Windy City Line Dance Mania, Professional Choreography Competition 2nd Winning Dance; very new, why didn't i do the 1st winning one ? coz. i like this one better =)

Little Rumba - i taught in tuesday nite class and the novice looks like having difficulties to do the dance, so i called out the cue then they get to follow my instructions;

The Kinser Influence - easy version of 'bad influence', also taught in windy city, it was so new that i even had to submit my dance with the step sheet, tried out in sunday class, students picked up fast and had fun, great =D

Paloma 2009 - a line dance instructor in LA sent me the material and asked if i want to do the dance demo, i listened to the song, oh my, very good song, so i did it the next day, very very interesting dance, you should try it out .....

so, that's all about it, checking a few new dances but will be busy in the coming days, will go party tomorrow nite, classes in the week, halloween party next saturday; SIGH, hate to see BMF, she bugs me every time in the party, have to remind myself 'be taugh, be taugh' .....
if you go to winne's party, i'll meet you there, but i'll be very late, wait till kids come back for the trick or treat ..... late is better than never, SEE YA

BMF (bad mouth fly) - keep your bad mouth shut

can't believe she's still the same no matter how old she is and how much she grows older

i didn't care of her for long time
very busy since last friday until this moment,
my body is aching but can't stop my anger to write her before i go to bed

what i did last saturday :
sent kids to chinese school; picked up my mom; went to shopping mall to exchange a tank top; did grocery shopping; bought lunch; went home prepared the soup; picked up kids; had lunch at home; drove kids to abacus; had a line dancing open house in unionville high school;

then my kids off from abacus, i went to winnie's afternoon party with TWO kids, what i thought was i like my instructor, just want to show up to show my respect, once i arrived, they danced the 'roll with the wind', i haven't even sat still so i didn't dance, then she yielded out with her damn voice
(so easy and you don't know the dance).

let me tell you

can't believe it's been 2 weeks from my last post =O
busy busy, don't think i forget my blog, i didn't but have no time to write, give me 2 more days and hopefully, i'll be free to write details in the following topics :

- i was overwhelmed by the responses of the open house of my tuesday nite class, 30 students signed up the class;
- did some dance demos, will post out each link; you can go direct to my youtube channel : rclinedanz and check out all the demos;
- went to a wedding this afternoon after the dance class;
- will have another open house tomorrow;
- will go to a ball for tony's business, he will be upstage and be presented a plaque for the years' support to the event;
on & on & on, so much happenings ........

my dear friends & students, sure you feel my happiness LOLOLOL
BMF, we still meet in some classes at the same time, but my eyes don't see her much only when she plays those tricks, i.e. yield out the cue; exgerate body rolls like cramping; bugging others for beats too fast; it's alright, same old tricks .......

happy mid-autumn festival everyone, hope you had a great evening =)

i have received a good present for this festival, had received an email from an oversea's line dancer/instructor, who complimented my dance style & technique; very happy, who doesn't like to be praised but the point is i have been struggle & strike back for over a year, like the holy war, fighting on my own, thanks to my family & students' support, i still survive till now.

things happen on & on, never stop, good and bad, but, wait a minutes, isn't that life : ups & downs, like comfy walk on beach sand and bare feet walk on stones, those make life fascinating .... i still have hard feeling and hard times from someone but with the kind words from my students, how they learnt from others before and didn't like line dancing until now they like my way of teaching with technique and details, that's worth to suffer from those 'unnecessary friends & enemies'.

i will run another trial lesson in a short while and have one more class on saturdays, same like last trial, depends on the majority and start the lessons. to me, i run from beginners to advance classes, any level fits me perfectly as long as i get to dance with my students; i'm now focusing to teach them with my heart, looking forward one day they dare to dance with me with no fear no hesitations ..........

my dear students, i will wait, even if it takes forever, i will wait ..... (quiz : lyric of a song, tell me if you know =D)

hi there, my new dance is released. be honest, i didn't spend much time in this one, my girl listens to this song for awhile and i think, humm, not bad though, then i checked and wondered, how come no one make a dance for it so i did. it has been uploaded in youtube : Big Girl Now

thanks to my two students during the first part of the video. there were 10 minutes left on monday class after i taught 'to the back', i thought why not to teach my new dance so i taught, what you see in the video was just the practice once they learnt the dance, not even learnt the restart & tag yet; there were a few students hiding from the camera because of camera shy OR didn't want to show their faces. A round of applause for my brave dance partners. Thank you.

i'm happy for the outcome of the trial lesson on 9/22 (Tuesday), that was a great nite with over 50 attendees, the room was packed. i taught 2 dances, ah si & j ho ab, also demonstrated 'man chang fei' with my students. I have uploaded the demonstration with my students in youtube : open house

Back It Up by Caro Emerald - there are 2 dances for the music at the same time and i think both are nice, so i took the videos of both dances, my instructor taught the one - To The Back, i did the dance part only and both dance & walk through to Back It Up, let me know which one you like better =)

will be busy whole day tomorrow for tony nephew's wedding, aiya, please don't make me go anywhere, just want to 'line dance', yeah, i know, i'm bit crazy and not interested in anything else ;P

hello my friends/readers :

it's busy & happy as usual, i've done my new dance, will submit to yipee in a day or so, this time 2 of my students are in the video as well; SIGH, don't ever think that i like to solo dance, if you've seen me dance in the parties then you know i dance more relaxed & better in real, spirit of line dancing is dance in a group, still waiting for someones to dance with me

also did 2 dance demos, you'll see i wore the same outfit for 3 videos, the reason is i have limited time to use the studio so i shot 3 demos with dance & walk through, that was pretty tight to film 3 in 2 hours; but the bigger task is 'editing'. i have to download the videos from camera to computer, screen each clip & mark down which part i want in @clip; use window movie maker to edit, then save, then view again to make sure everything is OK, then upload to youtube

had the open house last nite, over 50+ attendees, about 10 of my students went to support me, thanks so much; also thanks to the guests and my new students who signed up my new class; i taught 2 dances and demonstrated 'man chang fei' with my students, had lots of fun.

hi there, how are you ?

i've choreographed a dance - intermediate 48 count 4 wall 1 restart 1 tag ;P
also practiced 2 dances, ready to do dance & demo;
the studio is getting busy and i have no chance to tape my videos; i can only tape once or twice in a short time before or after my classes.
i can rent a session for private practice & film my videos but the point is i don't even have much time for myself, oh well

let's jump to another topic : i received good response for my first nite class which is starting next tuesday, due to the limited seats, some students pre-registered with me; i will provide a free trial lesson on the first nite (9/22) to teach 2 simple dances so the beginners get to know what is line dancing and how much fun they will get from there; i will also demonstrate a dance with a few of my students so the new comers know how well they can do in about a year of 'learn & practice'

i'm looking forward to meeting my new friends & students, that will be fun like a party, feel free to join me if you have time

Quick Fix choreographed by William Sevone to : quick fix by V V Brown, an advanced beginner 4 Wall 48 count; a fun dance, having 1960's feel while you dance with the go-go-hands, hitches & shimmies, you should definitely to try it ....... i taught my classes, students had so much fun, we taped and shared in my share box, hopefully, we can tape fairytale & quick fix in this coming lesson so i can add them to my DVD collections.

Break Your Heart by Shaz Walton to : break your heart by Taio Cruz, an Intermediate/Advanced level 64 count 2 wall; a cool dance, i like both the dance & music. you better believe i spent less time in this one than quick fix ....... check it out when you have time, you'll like it =)

since i said no time to choreograph my dance in my last post, i did it the next day, steps & script are done but have to wait for taking draft & final videos in the studio (studio is getting busy and i can only tape once or twice in a week), stay tuned ...

hi dear, long time no talk, keeping busy as usual;

my brother came for a week with his wife, left last saturday to states for meetings, his wife stays here for one more week; keep eating eating ...... ;P

i used to have high level class on monday but switched to thursday since summer schedule started; i keep going to my instructor's class on wednesday to learn advance dances, sometime i browse in Yipee and learn the dance at home, pick one i like then teach the next day in my class, take the videos after my class so i don't need warm up or practice =D (very economical to save time & energy)

i started to do 'walk through' in my demos, which are ways to train myself how to do/dance 'natural' in front of the camera. happy that i'm getting constructive feedbacks from the web & dance students/friends, so far so good .......

BUT i may have to stop for awhile (let me think about it, SIGH, life is so hard, no matter what you do, how you do, still someones love you and someones hate you); don't tell me like 'you can't please the whole world' or 'just let go' or 'ignore them'. when the hard feelings from someone matters to you that would be another story ......

Hi dear, how are you ?

Hurray, love to see my brother & his wife
He is a professor in the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the director of several academic programmes world wide, he has to fly around in different cities for conferences & meetings.
He has meetings in North America so he & his wife visit Toronto for 2 weeks as they usually do in summer.

I picked them up from the airport, had dinner; then I went to the ‘ITP’ beginners party last nite, as usual, as normal, BMF did crazy things that I don’t want to repeat again. Just realized something, she’s gone crazy, no matter what I do or undo; I ignored her still she came to me and told me off like what happened last week; this time I stood/danced at the spot even she came close to me and that made her so mad and got hyper, missy & her husband were around, she still acted like a clown POOR THING
Guess there’s only one way to get rid of her, guess what ??

DEAD TIRED and BMF - 'MAD DOG BARKING'

I’m dead tired. Went party last nite; taught line dance lesson this morning. Went to Tony’s company picnic at Wonderland with kids; we kept walking and waiting for the rides until we left around 4:30 p.m. hey man, that was 4 hours walking NOT DANCING. I couldn’t even complain how tired I was, or else Tony would say don’t dance then.
Oh my lord, please give me strength ………

Since last year whenever I go to Winnie’s party, BMF – Bad mouth fly & her dance peer, BFW always dance ‘too close’ to me like battling, I told my instructor and she said the best place would be dance in front of the DJ table at 6:00 p.m. which is the back wall; I dance next to the DJ table since then.

Last nite, I was having fun at the back wall until ‘breaking dishes’ in the 3rd section. In the middle of the dance, BMF came from nowhere and danced right besides me, so I moved a bit but was wondering why she appeared all a sudden; lots of dancers saw that including missy & the people at the DJ table. After the dance, she said to me ‘the centre spot is mine, not the spot for you’, I was pissed off and stopped.
That could be her duty to lead the dance at 6:00 in that section, but she's not supposed to tell the dancer (me) OFF .....
SIGH - mad dog barking (what else will discribe her better ??)

I sat down and saw my friends still danced at the same spot besides her, why would I be the one to walk away as told by her ??? At that moment, I asked myself should I leave or stay, I paid for the ticket, I was the guest and then she made the guest not happy at the party, SIGH ……. Too bad the music was too tempting; also, i didn't see her name marked on the floor that was her spot so I went back to the same spot and danced 'Cleveland Shuffle & Painted Windows'.

Even though I was a bit upset for awhile, I turned happy once I danced and danced and danced. I stayed dancing even I was embarrassed, OR you can say I just love dancing too much and nothing overcome the dance :-??

To tell you this, not to get your mercy, just to let you know what happened on me; I felt good this morning coz. I got to dance so much.

Think that BMF is the ‘ugly person’ sent by god to train my EQ, hope I can pass the EQ test soon. ;P

the studio owner, shirley lo, suggested me to host my next party 0n 8/28, not sure if that works, my brother & his wife are arriving on 8/15 for 2 weeks and 8/28 would be the day before their leaving, guess tony will get mad if i go for party SIGH may host it in the beginning of september, don't know yet, let me talk to Shirley and will post it here

My Line Dance Party

My dear dance students/friends

Thanks for joining my party yesterday. We had great time and fun; it was an all-level line dance party. We started from 6:45 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. We did a total of 47 dances with walk through and counts before the dance.

When my students & friends requested me to arrange a line dance party, we just made up a day on 7/26. During my vacation in Vancouver, then I thought of something - it was such a coincidence, I started teaching line dance in
In Beauty Spa sometime in April last year, the students increased and I had to rent a bigger place in Time Square; July 26, 2008 was the official first day that I rented a place to teach line dance, so I would say last nite was my 'Line Dance Anniversary Party'; can't believe it's been a year,
let me tell ya, it's not easy though, like battling on my own.

I’ve received several feedbacks of the party; glad that the dancers enjoyed the party and said they’ll join in my next party. funny that one of my beginner students asked me how come i have to check out the beginners' dance but remember all the advance dances without a peep; heehee, i have a special system for advance dances, but beginners are too confusing for me.

In this year, I learnt so much in line dancing, from learning, practicing, teaching, choreographing, dealing with dancers and students, bad and good but all precious, will keep on line dancing with your support.

hi there, busy busy, with all the happenings, learning, teaching, taking kids to doctors' office for check up, dadadada ......

keep saying have to review the dances on the party list, non done, lazy lazy, i'll be ok, hope to see you in my party; i used to have parties combined with shirley lo, the studio owner with 3 line dance & 2 ballroom in 1 section; this time will be only line dance in all levels; shirley and her line dance friends have to go to the singing teacher, Daniel Chan's 60th birthday party (HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANIEL LO SIE) and are unable to join me this time.

it will be a happy gathering with my students and my line dance friends.

BMF - DRESS TO KILL

last Saturday party, BMF - Bad mouth fly, she is mid 50’s and wore tube top with bare back shinny silver vest with a temporary tattoo on her back , exactly looked like an OLD prostitute.

i was a bit stress out last week, after studied the new dances myself and reviewed the dances on the list; i went to the party, that was OK lah. i was late to the party and once i started my first dance, she yielded from her microphone to our side 'why that side was so massy', oh yeah, could be, so what ??? huh ??

after we danced reach out, she said 'ha, i'm so 'cool' even i dance casually, SIGH, no matter you are pretty, cool, smart, talented etc. etc. should be quoted by others to you but not you quote yourself pretty, cool dadadada .....

am i talking too much about her, could be, sorry i don't have much to write if i don't write her, my life is quite flat & stable; you may or may not know who is she but over 85% dancers know her; one of my students never danced in our group and asked me, who is she, i told her and couldn't believe she said 'oh, i know her, when i went to workshop, she yielded out the cue and people stared at her, she also criticized my very experienced and qualified instructor's beats were fast in fact her beats were terribly fast'; thank you my dear, you pointed out most of her characters in only 2 sentences and that is her few tricks to insult other dancers ......

oh well, too much about her today, party list is final for my line dance party this sunday (7/26), which is all levels, walk through will be performed for beginners & intermediate levels; lots of new dances for high level i.e. strobe lights, reach out, magic, roomba, coochie bang bang, games people play, and many more

i don't party out except my instructor's party but i don't know who is and who is not the students of BMF & her friend, so dare not to approach too many dancers, please email me if you are interested, will email you the party list ...... =)
